Unpaid Carers
Caring about Carers
Focused art gatherings and personalised Art Psychotherapy to meet the needs of individuals with caregiving responsibilities.
In 2015, I began working with a local charity that supports unpaid carers and their families. Through my work with both individuals and groups, I saw firsthand how creating art in community settings can have a powerful, positive impact. This experience made me realise the value of working directly with people where they are most comfortable, and it deepened my commitment to helping others by addressing both their personal and shared needs.
Today, I strongly believe that making art should be an accessible and meaningful part of everyday life, not something seen as a luxury. Together, we can embark on a journey toward well-being in a way that feels natural and effective.
Are you a carer?
As a carer you provide unpaid support and care to a family member, friend, or loved one who may have a disability, chronic illness, mental health condition, or other challenging circumstances. You may often juggle multiple responsibilities and put others’ well-being before your own.
You may also face unique challenges in managing your own work-life balance, have financial concerns, and feel emotional strain.
If you are in need of emotional understanding, validation, and a sense of community to help you feel less isolated, I can provide support for you.
Explore beliefs, experiences, and navigate interconnected aspects of your life
Are you experiencing increased levels of stress due to the daily demands of your role?
As a carer you may struggle with limited time and energy for yourself. Our events provide a dedicated space where you can take a break, and release tension and explore stress triggers. Through creative expression, you may find relief, reduce stress, and regain a sense of calm.
Do you worry about your loved ones, managing complex tasks, or an uncertain future?
At our events you can express anxious thoughts and emotions and confront uneasy feelings in a safe environment. Through art-making and relaxation techniques, you may cultivate a greater sense of peace and resilience.
Do ongoing challenges of your role impact your mood?
Art making encourages self-expression, allowing you to explore and process feelings of sadness, isolation, hopelessness, and exhaustion. Engaging in creativity can lift your mood, increase self-esteem, and be a source of joy and fulfilment.
Are you witnessing the decline or loss of a loved ones' health?
Creative practice is a way to express and navigate the complexities of grief. Through art-making, you can honour memories, process emotions, and develop soothing rituals. It allows for the exploration of grief's multifaceted nature, fostering healing, and facilitating your grieving process.
