Art Psychotherapy

Experience the transformative power of making art with the support of a therapist

Whether you're feeling off balance, stuck, or just curious about your inner self, I provide a space for you to explore your mind, uncover hidden patterns, and reflect on thoughts and memories you might not fully recognise.

Together, we'll work through unresolved conflicts from your past, find deeper meanings in your experiences, and support your personal growth. My goal is to help you find balance, build healthy relationships, and understand yourself as you reach towards your full potential.

What is one-to-one art psychotherapy?

Art therapy uses art as the primary mode of expression, alongside talking with a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered art therapist. This helps you explore and express your emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a non-verbal, creative way, all within the safety of a supportive therapeutic relationship. In an individual art therapy session, you can discuss any concerns, goals, or hopes you have. Art materials are provided.

How does art psychotherapy work?

Art therapy offers a private and safe space where you can express yourself freely, without any judgment. It’s not about being an artist or creating perfect art. You don’t need any art experience or special skills to take part.

In our sessions, you’ll make art, and you can choose to talk while you work or stay quiet if that feels better for you. You can use whatever materials you like, such as paint, pastels, clay, or even make a collage.

I may sit quietly while you make your art, or I can create art with you, depending on what you need. We’ll also talk together about any thoughts or feelings that come up while you make art or when we look at what you’ve created.

Art therapy is a slow and steady process of learning about yourself, healing, and growing. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you. Our work together will build over time, and your commitment to the process is important.

Each session lasts 60 minutes, and we’ll meet in person once a week.

“We meet ourselves time and time again in a thousand disguises on the path of life”

- Carl Jung
