Art therapy with me - A gentle, supportive, and creative journey

How I approach art therapy

I believe that healing is a creative process - one that happens when we feel safe, supported, and free to express ourselves. My approach to art therapy is gentle, thoughtful, and person-centred, which means I focus on you as a whole person - your emotions, body, personal history, and the world around you.

I see art as a powerful way to explore thoughts and feelings that can be hard to put into words. Whether through painting, drawing, movement, or storytelling, creativity helps us understand ourselves better, process emotions, and move toward healing.

What you can expect

  • A warm, supportive space – You don’t need to be ‘good at art’ to benefit from art therapy. It’s about expressing yourself in a way that feels natural, not making something perfect. I offer a space where you can feel free to explore, reflect, and create without judgment.

  • Understanding yourself on a deeper level – Our life experiences shape how we feel, think, and relate to others. Sometimes, feelings we don’t fully understand get stored in the body or hidden beneath the surface. Through creative expression, we can bring these parts into awareness and find new ways of working with them.

  • Connecting mind & body – Healing is not just about talking; it’s about feeling and experiencing. I use gentle movement and sensory-based art making to help you reconnect with your body and emotions in a way that feels comfortable and grounding.

  • A focus on meaning & growth – Art therapy is about more than just managing emotions - it’s about discovering who you are, what matters to you, and what brings you a sense of meaning and purpose.

  • A culturally sensitive approach – Our personal struggles don’t exist in isolation - they are shaped by family, culture, and society. I recognise the impact of identity, oppression, and life experiences, ensuring therapy is respectful, inclusive, and empowering.

A collaborative & creative journey

Art therapy is not about fixing anything - it’s about exploring, expressing, and making sense of your experiences in a way that feels right for you. I am here to guide and support you in this process, whether that means talking, creating, moving, or simply sitting in quiet reflection.

Everyone has an inner voice, an inner wisdom, and a unique way of seeing the world. Sometimes, we just need space to hear it.

If this approach speaks to you, I invite you to reach out and begin your journey.
